My Night

*I started this post Thursday night but didn't finish. I will finish it now.

I should be asleep. I feel tired but I doubt I would sleep much. I just got out of the shower and decided to blog about my intersting-crazy-not-so-fun night.

It started off a very fine night. I got home from work and made dinner which was mighty good. Zoee and I watched a little Dr. Phil and read a few books and then I decided that we should go for a walk. It was about 8:00 and we still had a good hour before Greys started and I thought Zoee would really like to get outside. It wasn't too hot and very nice for a walk. We went out the back door because we were going to take Zoee's bike so she could ride it. I checked to door to make sure it was not locked and went into the backyard to unlock the gate. We left for our bike ride/walk. We ended up at the park and played there for awhile. Then we went to the pool to put our feet in the water. It was really fun and cute to see Zoee hanging her little feet over the egde into the pool. Next thing I know, She sits down in the water on the step so her jeans and shirt are totally soaked. I let her sit in the water for a minute and then convinced her to leave. (I knew it was getting close to 9:00 and I had to be back for my show!) I ended up just taking her clothes off because she was so wet and she walked home in just a soggy wet diaper.

ok, not so bad right. well, we get home, unlock the gate to go into the house thru the back door and it's locked! I knew the front door was locked because I always lock it when Nate is gone. I did walk around front to check hoping that by some miracle I had left it unlocked. Nope. I know that I checked the lock so I think when I was outside unlocking the gate, my darling daughter locked the door. She has learned that the locks on the knobs turn and she likes to play with them.

So here I am, standing in my back yard with Zoee, who only has on a diaper that is soaking wet and down to her knees and I am in my pajamas and do not even have a bra on. Everything was locked in the house, my keys, my cell phone, my wallet...everything. My first thought was to walk to 7-11 and use a pay phone and call Nate but I didn't even have a quarter!

I decided to knock on the neighbors door and ask to use their phone and call Nate and he would come home and unlock the door and we would get in and everything would be ok. Nope, didn't go quite so nice. I did knock on the neighbors door and they weren't home so I walked across the street to the another neighbors and knocked on his door. Keep in mind, I have never really talked to any of my neighbors. We say hi as we pass or something but I didn't know their names and they didn't know mine. Well, he came to the door, half dressed and I guess the look on my face told him that I was in a bind. The first thing he said to me was, "are you ok?" I asked him I could use his phone to call my husband. I explained that Zoee locked us out. He welcomed us in and let us sit in his living room and use his phone. I called Nate but he can't answer so I just left a message hoping he would check it and call me back. He didn't. So I call information and get the number to the resturant and call him on that. I tell them it is an emergency and they get him for me. I told him what was going on and he told me to call his parents. He gave me the number because I don't have it memorized. I hung up with him and tried to call his parents house. I was hoping someone there could go to Mandalay Bay and get the key for me but no one answered there. I tried a few times but still no answer. My next thought was to walk to Erins and see if she could help. It would have taken me awhile to walk there but I was willing to do anything at this point. Don (the nice neighbor) told me he would drive me to her house. I was nervous because I didn't have a car seat but it would help so I did it. Huge thanks to Don the nice neighbor.

So we get to Erins and I am sure she was surprised to see us. I told her what happened and asked if she could take me to get the key. Kevin wasn't home yet so she told me she would when he got home. It was nice to visit with her while we waited. Kevin got home and told me to just take his car. I was so so grateful for their help!! I drove to Mandalay Bay which was a little scary to me because I have never driven down to the strip all alone. I have always had someone with me. I have driven down there just to look but have never had to park and do it all alone. Nate called on the way there and walked me thru it and told me where to go. I finally found my way and parked. I parked kinda far away from where I needed to be but I figured it would be easier to walk than drive with all those taxi's and limo's flying past me. It was obvious I didn't know what I was doing, I mean, I am from a town that doesn't even have a stop light!!

I found the door that I needed to be at and went inside to find the elevator. I had to go up to the resturant which was totally akward because I was in my pajamas. I was in the elevator with a bunch of very nice dressed guys and they just kinda looked at me like, do you realize that you are in a very nice hotel and you are dressed a little too casual? I wanted them to know that I knew that I looked stupid and out of place so I just told them I normally don't go out like this but my 2 year old locked us out and we had to come get the key. They laughed and wished me good luck. I got upstairs to Nate and he gave me the key and kissed me which made me feel much better.

We left the hotel and took Erins phone back. (she had given me her phone too so I could keep in touch with Nate) We finally got home around mid night and Zoee crashed. She was such a little tropper and never cried or whined. Thank goodness I took a binky on the walk! It saved my life!So it was a crazy night! I wasn't mad just mostly embarrased and felt bad that I had to inconveince Don and Erin and Kevin. A huge huge thank you to all of them for their help.

However, I did missed the season finale of Greys!

Gosh....that stinks. Maybe you should get a hide a key just in case something like this should ever happen again.

Dude i thought my Thursday was sucky but you totally just made me feel better. It is funny that when things go crazy they can sometimes go steam roller crazy. Anyway if you still have not seen that last Greys I still have it DVR'd and you are more than welcome to come watch it anytime!!
