For those of you that don't know what Rumbly butt is, let me explain.
Rumbly butt is when you eat something (ie: Cafe Rio, Taco bell, Wendys, pretty much any fast food) and you get that stomach ache that makes you think, "I better find a bathroom NOW!" The kind of stomach ache that makes you sweat and get the poop chills. It is not fun. It makes you get all clammy and hot and nervous that you are not going to make it to the toilet. It's the kind where you have to squeeze your butt cheeks together to hold it all in.
I know this might be a little graphic but I know you have all had it.
I seem to suffer from rumbly butt more than other people. I always have. I can almost count on getting sick after eating out. I have had to plan my outings around where we are going to be so I can get to the bathroom because I can almost guarantee that it will happen. I have had this problem all my life. My dad has this problem. It doesn't really matter what I eat because I usually get it a few times a week. It sucks.
Well, today I went to lunch with the girls that I used to be in the RS presidency with. It was one of their birthdays so we took her to lunch. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings. I have never been there before but it is where she wanted to go so that's where we went. Zoee and I shared the appetizer nachos. They were ok. Nothing spectacular but ok. We finished our lunch and stayed to talk for awhile. I could feel the rumbly coming on. I didn't want to go to the bathroom because the last time we went out I had to rush to the bathroom. I didn't want them to think I was crazy. I got the poop chills and the sweats but have learned that if you just hold tight for awhile then it goes away for a minute but always comes back. We finished up the conversation (thank goodness) and we all left. I was feeling ok at this point but knew I still had one stop to make before I headed home.
I needed to stop at the grocery store to get a few things for enrichment tonight. I parked, hauled the kids and hurried to find what I needed. I was at K Mart and I never shop there so I didn't know where anything was at. It took me longer than normal trying to find everything I needed. I was picking out some grapes when all of the sudden it hit. I hurried to the checkout, bought my stuff and headed to the car anxious to get home.
I parked the cart at the end of my car, loaded Gus into the car and went to put the one bag of groceries on the seat. All of the sudden I hear Zoee yelling,"Mom, it's rolling!" I look up and Zoee is in the cart heading down the parking lot. The parking lot must have had a little slope because she was going pretty fast. I took off running after her while trying to squeeze my butt checks together! I don't know if I was more afraid of pooping my pants of the cart tipping over.
I caught up to her and grabbed the cart. I asked her if she had fun. I tried to make it seem ok so that she didn't cry. I got back to the car, put her in her seat and drove home as fast as I could so I could make it to the toilet.
It was like the dumb and dumber scene all over.
Glad she didn't crash.

The kids are still alive.... We promise!
this is nate
K, so it has been almost 2 weeks since you've all had to come over here only to be disappointed with the Pro's and Con's of our kids. Like I said, they are still alive and kicking (and screaming and whining and crying and squealing and all that fantastic junk that we sign up for when we decide to have kids.) In case none of you could tell, we were having some rough times and all the reassurances were nice. So thanks.
I don't really know what to talk about now. Since the Summer-O-Fun ended a month ago, Zoee is still learning to live with rules and bedtimes and somewhat regular meal times and being told No. And Gus is starting to crawl. He actually started a couple weeks ago and still isn't actually crawling, but he's getting really efficient at scooting around on his belly and getting anything and everything that means the world to Zoee since it's on the floor and he just wants to check it out... with his drool. And nearly every... single... thing... in this house means the world to Zoee so she has some pretty rough days defending what she thinks is her territory, even if it's something of Gus'. So all that has been pretty irritating to live with in our little house. Since we all made it back from glorious Huntsville, we haven't left town once, we haven't really done much other than swim and try to stay inside with our puny little A/C. We try to stay home during daylight and go out once it starts to darken, but that gets cut short cause Gus goes to bed at about 7:30 or 8 every night. So we haven't been doing anything.
One point of excitement that I need to fill some people in on is that we have put in an offer on a house we know of and both really really like. Stac has known about the house for quite a while now; it belonged to a friend of hers and they've been trying to sell it for a while now but (just like everyone probably knows) houses aren't selling very well here, let alone for what people are trying to get out of them. So they're been losing mucho dinero on this house and finally the bank approved a short sale on it and that was enough to get us to take the bait. It's in really good shape with lots of upgrades already in it, it's much MUCH bigger than this little house, 4 bedrooms, big big family room- really it's ready for us to move in. They've already said that they are good with the offer we sent over, but now we're waiting to hear back from the bank on what they think of our offer. We were told yesterday that it'd probably be a couple more weeks till we hear back form the bank. So we're waiting. Oh, the difficulty in all this is that they're no longer offering people the first time home buyer/down payment assistance programs out there (thank you Bush), so this is all gotta be closed by the last day of September. It's kinda a rush, but the house was really easy to like and agree on. Before all this happened, we were only looking at houses that already had multiple offers on them cause they were such good bargains. It's tough being a first time home buyer. We just wanna get us a home to call ours.
What else??????
Training at the jail is still going really good. I really do like being in the jail; it's a lot of fun. I've only got 4 more weeks of training to go till I'm on my own... but no tour from under the microscope. I have and 18 month probationary period that started when I started in March. So until next September I have to be really on top of my game so they have nothing to fire me for. From talking with a lot of people, they really hate to have to do that with as much time, money, and training they've put into me thus far. But once training is over, I'm still not off the hook. Stac asked me one night last week if I missed being at Mix. I told her Not really. But there definitely some things about being there I do miss. Mainly this: the securing of knowing that what I'm doing is right and I'm good at it. There's a lot of confidence that builds when you become comfortable in what you're doing, who you do it with, and when you know you're good at what you do. That, I really do miss. It's been kinda rough going into something that is so new and foreign to me that puts me completely at the bottom of the learning curve. But as hard as it has been, I do really enjoy every day of it so far and and really really glad that Stac has been there to support me in it. It hasn't been easy, but we're making it there together. (Man, that is some really corny stuff!!)
I think that'll do it for now. Something new for everyone out there. I'm sure I missed something really important that I just can't think of right now. And if I did, then Stac will have to correct me.

pros and cons
So I am going to be totally honest. I am really struggling with being a mom lately. Maybe it's just my attitude. Maybe my body is still hormonal from when I had Gus. I heard it can take up to a year for your hormones to be back to normal. Whatever it is, there is not a lot I am enjoying about parenting right now.
My kids are good. They sleep good, they are not picky eaters (well, Zoee anyways) and they are generally pretty good. So why am I feeling like this? Why do I just want to be child free? I went to Erin's birthday slumber party which was totally fun and much needed. It was so nice to be without the kids for an entire night but the minute I got home I wished I was back there. Wished I was without the kids again. I feel bad for feeling like this because I know it is not their fault. I feel bad because I am the one who chose to have kids and so I need to be more patient and kind.
As I was showering today I was trying to think of the pros and cons of having kids. I will be totally open and honest and say that the cons outweighed the pros by a long shot. So, I am turning to my readers, family and friends to ask your help. If you can, please email me or comment with some pros and let me know what makes you happy being a parent. Maybe I can change my perspective a little if I read what you all have to say.
Thanks to you all.

Funny Zoee
Zoee has been saying some funny things lately. I have really been meaning to write them down so I don't forget. Here are some of the funny things she has said.
We were at a ward party and someone at our table asked Zoee if she had any pets. She said in her most confident voice, "yes, we have a horse and a sheep." I had to tell the lady (who just joinded the church) that we do not have a horse or a sheep. I didn't want her thinking us mormons are any weirder than we are.
Zoee climbed into bed with me one morning to lay with me. I was still asleep when all of the sudden I heard her gasp as if she had just seen something really scary. I opened my eyes and asked her what was wrong. She told me she saw something. I asked her what she saw totally thinking she really did see something unusual or scary. She then said, "your big teeth."
I was giving her a bath one night and I said something and she laughed and said, "Stacy, you are so funny."
Zoee asks for Nate a lot of time when he is at work. I tell her that he is at work. She asked me one time if he was working with the mean guys. I am not sure where she got that from. Now everytime Nate comes home from work she asks him about the mean guys.

Some things I hate
Everyone always posts things they love or things that make them happy. I want to make a list of things I hate.
1. I hate when people go straight in the right lane. It is for turning. I know legally you are allowed to go straight most of the time but it is common courtesy to not go straight in the right lane. There is always one person at the front of the line going straight which prevents a right turn on red. It bugs.
2. I hate MTV. Why do they have a channel that plays music? Seriously. If you want to listen to music then turn on the radio. I guess I can see turning on MTV if you need some music while cleaning or doing other stuff around the house but to sit on the couch and watch MTV is pretty stupid. If you are going to sit down to watch tv then watch a real show. I hate music videos. They are lame.
3. I hate when you go shopping and buy a new pair of pants or shirt and the sales person ringing you up lifts it up and folds it. Just put it in the bag. I know they do this because they are just folding it up nice so they can put it in the bag for you. I know they are just being nice but I hate it. Some may ask why and you would ONLY understand this if you are an overweight person. It's embarrassing. It's like they hold up your giant pair of pants so everyone behind you can look at them and think to themselves, wow...are there really butts that big? Yes people, they are huge and it is my ass that fits in them. I know this is weird and it is just me but I hate it.
4. I hate when people tell me I have cute kids and then say, "you did good." I don't hate when they tell me I have cute kids. That is fine but I hate when they tell me I did good. Why would you say that? I NEVER know what to say. Um, thanks? I sometimes want to say, yeah we worked really hard during sex so we could make sure the cute sperm made it up there. Me having cute kids has nothing to do with anything I did. It just happened that way. There is not a secret code you put in or a certain position of sex that guarantees cute kids. It is awkward when people say this.
5. I hate that it says "for best results squeeze from the bottom up and flatten as you go up" on the tube of toothpaste. This is stupid. Squeezing from the bottom of the tube does not prevent cavities or make my teeth whiter any more than squeezing from the top or the middle. Stupid. I purposely squeeze the tube in the middle.
There. I feel better.
