and the winner is...

Mom. Of course. We had our annual gingerbread house making contest a few nights ago. I must say, this year was pretty competitive since there is now a trophy involved. Everyone was excited to get together and start the competition. We had a few fights as we went over the rules but finally all agreed on some stuff and started the war. Mom lead us in an oath which made us all promise we would not say mean things, steal candy from each other or whine if we didn't win. (easy for her to say since she always wins!) I was pretty impressed with the houses this year. It seems like everyone put a lot of thought into their ideas and they all turned out really nice. Here are some pictures from the night.

Cody with all his "tools"

All the finished houses.

Here are pictures of the loser to the winner:

8th place...Kyle (multi million dollar mansion)

Nate and Dad had the same idea so there was so pretty fierce competition between the two. Nate was just excited he placed higher than Dad

7th place...Dad (nativity with a black Jesus) 6th place...Nate (nativity with a red Jesus)
5th place...Kaylee (an out house titled "holy crap")

4th place...Mel (Bass fishing lodge, she was trying to sway the judge since he is a fisherman.)

3rd place...Cody (a car wash)

2nd place...Stac (nightmare before Christmas)

and the winner...Mom (just a plain old gingerbread house)

The trophy. This is the first year we have had a trophy. (Thanks to the Vegas cousins Christmas party!) It was intense because everyone wanted the trophy. The winner got to sign their name on the gingerbread man and gets to proudly display it for the year.
Mom accepting the trophy. Aunt Kathy was one of the judges. Thanks for the doing such a great job Kath!
The top three winners.
There you have it...Until next year!!
