care enough about the blog anymore to blog more than once a week, she's now telling me that there have been requests from more than one person requesting my 8 strange things about myself (how convenient). I'll give it a shot.
1. I still sleep with my blue blanket that I've had since my earliest memories. It was originally a yellow blanket, but wasn't holding up against the test of time so well, so my mom (the BEST BLANKET MAKER IN THE WORLD!!), showing her excellent, loving, and awesome motherlyness, decided th cover the yellow blanket with blue fabric and red, duck-shaped thread design along the edges. I've taken it with me everywhere I go, I've taken it on scout campouts, bike trips, the mission of course, pre-marriage trips to Huntsville; really about everywhere.
2. Some of my most favorite things in the world are some of the simplest, but when I get them in any combination, the only thing that could move me would be if you were to touch said blue blanket. These things are: a nice, cold can of coke, a back scratch, a cheese sandwich, a good hoodie, cheese and crackers, velveeta shells and cheese, and cold sheets. And sex. :)
3. I like to be undressed when going number 2. Don't know where it comes from. But when at home I prefer to de-clothe as much as necessary to achieve ideal pooping conditions. Again, don't know why, but i do.
4. I really like me a nice office supply. I have this weird thing about finding, trying, and once in ownership of, will keep track of nice pens (mostly pens). I've been known to spend between $15 and $20 to get me a good pen. On the mission I went out of my way more than once to check in on a store (the ONLY store I know of that carried them.... cause I called the company to see who made them!) just to see if they'd gotten more in of the one I wanted. I try to blame my taste for nicer writing utensils on dad for always having (at least since I can remember) nice office supplies around for real work needs. A good pen is worth the effort it takes to find it.
5. I have a strong testimony of the BoM. I was known to be one who wasn't too obedient on my mission and not make very good use of my time in the mission. I had a lot of time on my hands. I read the BoM beginning to end almost 8 times and the D&C almost 2. I hate reading, which is why I find this whole thing strange. I really really dislike reading. As I've reflected on this since my mission, I've decided that when the scriptures talk about 'saving but one soul, then how great shall be your joy.....' I am confident that my one soul was myself, and it was because of that time I was blessed with on my mission. Call it what you want; I call it good.
6. I hate lotion and massages. Hate them. Don't touch me, I'll be fine. Rarely (ask Stac) will I ask for something to be massaged/rubbed cause it's sore or tired. Sore muscles happen, they'll go away. Yes, my feet are tired, but they'd be much better if you just leave them alone and let them relax. Lotion just makes me feel greasy and I really hate that. No matter what kind I've tried, it all still feels the same. I can still feel it on my skin, I know it's there, and I don't care what you say, it does NOT make anything feel better or moisturised.
7. I can sleep just about anywhere. I really can. So when I say I just need a pillow and some space on the floor, I mean it. It's a big blessing; and again, I blame my dad. Thanks Dad.
8. Sometimes I think I have a little bit of OCD. Just a little. Maybe it's just a routine or maybe a habit, whatever. But every single time I get dressed, I put my wallet in my back right pocket, cell phone and chap stick in my front right pocket, and keys (and only keys) go in the front left pocket. anything extra goes in the front right pocket. Been doing it since I' had any of those 4 things to carry, not gonna stop any time soon. Another thing along that same line is that I constantly feel to make sure my wallet is still in my pocket. Losing my wallet is one of my great fears in life, so I constantly make a quick poke to make sure it's still in there.
There, 8 things. That was a little harder than I thought it'd be. Hope I enlightened someone. Now go read the Book of Mormon.

You shouldn't frequently poke yer pocket. It's naughty.
Haha. I'm pretty confident that most of the time your pokes aren't all that quick. And I totally hear ya on the nice pen thing. Remember when I sent you a bunch of cool pens from the doctor's office when you were on your mission? (I did do that right? I'm not making that up?) I actually found a pen a few weeks ago (not sure where) that I LOVE, and have bought 2 different packs of pens since, thinking they were the same as this one, but there were NOT. That sucks. I'm still on the hunt for this specific PaperMate pen.
And you are WEIRD about the lotion and massage thing...but you like microfiber too, so you really are weird.
And your undressing to go #2 does go back as long as I can remember too. Again, weird. What can I say? I mean, you're surely the only WEIRD one in our bunch!!! Especially 'cause WHO WOULD EVER STILL SLEEP WITH THEIR BABY BLANKET AT 25 YEARS OLD??? Or even 29 years old...with 4 kids...or...not even let their own kids borrow it...I mean...so what people...THAT IS SO NORMAL.
Well these things are strange by themselves, but if you put them all together, you get a rather normal person. Everyone has their own oddities that make them, who they are.....
Just keep doing what you are doing and thinking nothing of those whom say other wise......
You were strange in the MTC, but who is not.... I was probably strange also.... But I do think reading the Book Of Mormon is a great Idea and needed to keep going on the normal path that we all seek
I laughed my ass off at #3. Even though I know that about you, it's still funny to read.
"Ideal pooping conditions!"
I think this should be the name of your BLOG
LOVE IT! Soooo hillarious!
